Expect Daytime Traffic Delays Due to Mechanical and Electrical Upgrades for Drawbridge

WEST SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - Motorists can expect only one westbound and one eastbound lane open to traffic from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, September 24 through Thursday, September 27. Caltrans advises drivers to allow additional travel time, especially during the morning and afternoon commute hours, or use the I Street bridge and other alternate routes. Also, motorists are asked to “Be Work Zone Alert” and “Slow for the Cone Zone.”

Bridge work is anticipated to continue through the end of December. During this time, motorists can expect intermittent traffic-interfering work on weekdays. In addition, full closures of the Tower Bridge are tentatively scheduled for October 4, 8 and 9. Weather or other unexpected delays could postpone the work.
