WEST SACRAMENTO, CA (MPG) - The West Sacramento 2022 Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony took place on Friday, December 2nd, in front of City Hall on West Capitol Ave. Families, City officials and community members gathered to enjoy various music and dance performances in anticipation of a visit from Santa and the lighting of the city’s Christmas tree.

While spectators enjoyed coffee, hot chocolate and cookies, they were entertained with performances by the River City High School Orchestra, West Sac Community Center Hip Hop Dancers, RCHS Big Band, RCHS Jazz Band and a Ballet performance by Jaynica Dacuycuy.

Santa Claus arrived with the help of the West Sacramento Fire Department. After Santa and Mayor Martha Guerrero flipped the switch to light the tree, Santa got comfortable inside the galleria of City Hall for free pictures with him and the many kids that came to see him.

This free annual community event is sponsored by the West Sacramento Chamber of Commerce. Every year the event proves to be a fun way to kick off the season and a great place to enjoy the company of friends.
