FOLSOM, CA (MPG) - SAFE Credit Union will participate in this year’s annual SacTown Run on Sunday, April 7, in downtown Sacramento benefiting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. This event is open to the community.

Every year since 2012, thousands of people have turned out for the event hosted by Credit Unions for Kids and the Sacramento Running Association. The event has raised nearly $2 million for the medical network that provides life-saving treatments and healthcare services for kids, as well as financial assistance to families who otherwise could not afford health services.

SAFE is a sponsor of the event and will field a team of runners as well as provide volunteers to staff stations along the courses.

“SacTown Run is a wonderful way for credit unions across the region to come together to support a really important cause,” says SAFE Credit Union Vice President of Community Relations and Financial Education Rebecca Delmundo. “Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals provide such an important service to so many families going through difficult situations."

"Credit unions operate under the principle of people helping people, and the SacTown Run is one of the many ways SAFE and other credit unions directly support our community," Delmundo continues.

The SacTown Run offers courses from a family-friendly 1-mile route to more challenging 5K and 10-mile courses. All courses begin and end at the Capitol Mall in downtown Sacramento.
